This past Friday, we welcomed both members of our 2020 Boston Marathon team, Matt and Paul, to our Boston Marathon Celebration Luncheon at our office in Cambridge, MA. It was the first opportunity that most of us have had to meet them and boy do we have a fun team this year! We’re so grateful to have Matt and Paul bring their sense of humor and commitment to support the Next Step mission.
It wouldn’t be much of a celebration if we hadn’t invited some of our previous runners as well! It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to meet each other, it also gave our past runners the opportunity to share some of their training and race day experiences with Matt and Paul as well.
We’ve been so fortunate over the last seven years to have some amazing people step up to conquer the historic Boston Marathon wearing the Next Step singlet! A heartfelt thank you to the John Hancock Marathon Nonprofit Program for welcoming Next Step back for another year and for your continuous support of our mission. Matt and Paul will be the 17th and 18th members of Team Next Step to cross the beautiful blue and gold finish line on Boylston Street – all in support of our FREE year-round community, music, and mentorship programming for teens and young adults living with cancer, HIV, and rare genetic disorders.
Thank you so much to Matt, Paul and the other members of Team Next Step for celebrating this amazing tradition that continues to change so many lives in the Next Step community. GO TEAM NEXT STEP!
