Who We Work With

At Next Step, we work with young people 16-29 years old who are living with both the immediate and long-term impact of cancer, HIV/AIDS or rare genetic disorders.

The key phrase here is “work with”—you’re the one in the driver’s seat. All of our programs are developed in partnership with our young people, because your input, ideas and approval are what make our programs work. We provide support and training opportunities, ask questions and reflect the possibilities but, at the end of the day, this is your story to tell.

“It’s a non-judgmental environment where you can lay everything out on the table and get total love and acceptance.”NEXT STEP YOUTH

Our goal at Next Step is to help you envision and create the future you want, but you’re the only one who can know where you want to go, and what you need to learn or overcome in order to get there. So, whether you are dealing with physical, emotional, or practical challenges—or all of the above—Next Step is here to support you as you face those challenges and take the next steps you need to move on with your life.
