Next Step volunteers share their time, energy, and expertise to help us make sure our programs are fun, supportive, and meaningful to young people – and we’d love for you to join in! We primarily need volunteer support at our Next Step Campference program. See more about our Campferences HERE.
Here is how you can help at a Next Step Campference:
RESIDENTIAL STAFF – our on-the-ground support throughout a Campference weekend, providing overnight support in the cabins and participating in our programming during the day.
WORKSHOP PRESENTERS – provide education and facilitation for small and large groups. We plan all of our Campferences with young people, so the topics change based on what’s important to them, but please sign up if you’re interested in leading a workshop. We’ll check in with you closer to the date of a Campference with topics.
OPENING/CLOSING DAY SUPPORT – help transport youth to and from Boston area train stations and airports.
VOLUNTEER NURSE – provides nursing care to a group of 15-25 participants (depending on the session). Volunteer nurses help with check-in on the first day of each weekend and provide coverage throughout the weekend. All volunteer nurses must possess:
- Current RN licensure in the state where the Campference occurs (we currently have programs in MA and NY)
- Current CPR certification
- 1-2 years of experience preferred
“I’ve worked with a large number of nonprofits and I can confidently say that I walked away feeling the most fulfilled I have in a long time.”
