Meet Andre!

The Next Step team is growing!  Meet Andre! Andre has been with us for a week now. In that time, he traveled to Duke University with Kepler to meet some of our industry partners down south, he helped us host last week’s 3rd Annual Ping Pong For a Purpose, met some young participants in the Next Step office, AND he experienced a private Next Step staff party this past Saturday night. Andre is such a good person and we are thrilled to have him on our team. We cant wait for you to meet him!

We recently checked in with Andre to see what he thinks about his time at Next Step. Read what Next Step’s newest employee had to say!

What is your role at Next Step? Your job title?

My official role at Next Step is the Mentor Specialist

How did you discover Next Step?

I was in the process of job search and wanted to be very specific and intentional about with organization I interviewed with. I did a google search for organizations within the Greater Boston area, whose mission is Youth Development, Advocacy and Mentoring and Next Step was one of the first on the list.

What is your favorite thing about working at Next Step?

Being the newest member of the team, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. My first day in the office, I realized that the culture at Next Step is one where creativity, authenticity and originality are nurtured. I believe that, so far is my favorite thing about Next Step, coupled with the amazing familial atmosphere that is nurtured by the team.

What is your favorite quote?

My favorite quote is “our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate – our greatest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us.”

Can you give us a random “Andre” factoid?

Fun fact about me – I am very ticklish.  This is particularly embarrassing because my little sister knows this, and once walked up to me in the middle of the church (I am a minister) and tickled my side, and I fell on the ground, in my robe and literally rolled away from her.
