Maria Hamel and Peg Carlson volunteered to run the 123rd Boston Marathon on April 15, 2019 to raise awareness about our important mission and raise funds to support our free year-round programming for seriously ill young people, ages 16-29, who are living with cancer, HIV and rare genetic disorders!
Peg is a longtime volunteer of Next Step. This is Peg’s first time running the Boston Marathon for Next Step but she ran the Falmouth Road Race numerous times with Team Next Step.
Maria is new to Next Step and we are thrilled to welcome her into our community. Maria has a huge heart and “gets” the Next Step mission. She ran in several running races around the country but this is her first time running the Boston Marathon.
We are so grateful and honored to partner with John Hancock and these two amazing individuals! Thank you Maria and Peg!
