Meet the 2020 Next Step Boston Marathon team!

Say hello to Team Next Step!

Matthew Hamilton and Paul Furer from Summit Partners volunteered to run the 124th Boston Marathon on Monday, April 20, 2020 in support of Next Step! Matt and Paul are running the Boston Marathon to help us raise awareness about our critically important mission and to help fund our free year-round community, music therapy and mentorship programs for seriously ill young people, ages 16-29, who are living with cancer, HIV and rare genetic disorders.

A little about our 2020 Boston Marathon runners:

Matt is a long-distance bicyclist who participates in the annual Pan-Mass Challenge and Paul is an avid runner. This will be their first time running in a marathon and we are so grateful they chose to do it in support of Next Step and our mission to shatter limitations and elevate aspirations of teens and young adults living with cancer, HIV and rare genetic disorders.

This is Next Step’s seventh year in a row participating in the Boston Marathon. We are so grateful to be part of one of Boston’s best and longest traditions, especially in support of young people that really need our help.

Thank you to Ashley Wheeler and her entire team in the John Hancock Marathon Nonprofit Program for welcoming Next Step back again! We are so proud and honored to run alongside so many wonderful nonprofits that are impacting the Boston area communities and beyond!

Go Team Next Step! Thank you Paul and Matt! We cannot wait to work with you over the next several months!
