We have exciting news to share with you! A group of Next Step participants living with serious illness had the unique opportunity to record one of Next Step’s own original songs with the Kendall Square Orchestra.
‘Come and Walk a Mile’ was written as part of Next Step’s Song Studio music programming and was chosen by Pfizer to represent their global Rare Disease Day initiative. We join everyone in celebrating the ‘Come and Walk a Mile’ project.

There is a message of hope and grit that is going out to the world from Next Step’s young people. We discussed the goal of impacting just one young person, somewhere in the world, that was struggling with their “Mile” while living with an illness. Mission accomplished, and then some! Congratulations to the Next Step artists and the entire community for building this inspiring story.
We are also inspired by the process that brought so many talented people and driven organizations together to amplify this message. This collaboration represented what is possible when groups come together that are genuinely and humbly driven to improve the lives of others. Thank you to everyone at Kendall Square Orchestra, Pfizer, Intent Health and our Next Step participants and volunteers. What an amazing group of people.
