Next Step Mobile

Next Step Mobile is just what it sounds like. We take our programs on the road to hospitals and clinics. Each program may include fun community-building icebreakers and games, educational workshops, or music and expressive arts-based activities. We’ve partnered with medical centers in Boston, New York, and Rhode Island, and we are always looking to grow our network.

The idea behind taking our free programs directly to the young people is that they learn about our programs in a familiar environment with their healthcare providers. The teens and young adults who participate in our Next Step Mobile program have lots of fun, learn important life skills, gain self-confidence and access to a safe community of peers who get what they are going through because of their diagnosis.

“Watching these young adults open up and articulate their feelings was priceless. Thank you to all the parties involved. I look forward to continuing our work together.”CANDICE’S SICKLE CELL FUND

Here are some of the things we discuss at a Next Step Mobile program:

  • Self-confidence
  • Self-advocacy
  • Medical transition
  • Friendship and relationship building

Next Step Mobile is a great way to share information about a new resource to help your patients. We look forward to partnering with you.
