Since our office in Cambridge, MA temporarily closed due to COVID-19, our program team has done a tremendous job staying connected virtually with the seriously ill young people we normally connect with through our in-person programs.
Our Work So Far.
The Next Step program team has effectively transitioned our community, music and mentorship programming to a virtual setting, including:
Instagram LIVE – Quita and Kimberly are hosting weekly hour-long live shows on our Instagram page where they teach essential life skills, create original music and discuss topics that are impacting our community right now.
Zoom Power Circles – These private community-based discussions focus on important issues the young people we support are facing and are intentionally kept at a small number of youth participants so everyone is heard.
Song Studio Virtual Sessions – Kimberly is still meeting our young participants in one-on-one and group settings in our music therapy program.
Zoom Task Force Meetings – Returning Summer Campference attendees are working with our program team to design curriculum and fun activities for our 2020 Next Step Virtual Summer Campferences.
2020 Next Step Virtual Summer Campferences – Our most popular program is returning again this June, 2020, but this time we are hosting our residential program online! Apply to a 2020 Next Step Virtual Summer Campference!
