New friendships, memories, knowledge and life skills.
We recently delivered our first FREE Campference program for young adults living with chronic illness outside of Massachusetts. Rest assured, while the locale had changed, the magic remained the same.
We hosted 14 young people at The Stony Point Center in Stony Point, NY for three days where they participated in fun community building activities, expressive arts, and educational workshops. Young people built a community based on shared experiences, laughter, and the knowledge that they are not navigating their chronic illness experience alone.
This weekend would not have been a success without the support and partnership of many individuals who helped make this dream come true.
Maureen Licursi and Serena Brown from New York-Presbyterian Hospital
Whitney Harris and Molly Lawson from The Dalio Center for Health Justice
Gaby Stern and Gretchen Greenlee from Brooklyn Methodist Hospital
Candice Deler and Sarai Santiago from Candice’s Sickle Cell Fund
Dr. Kenneth Rivlin and Toni DeNicola from Jacobi Medical Center
Dr. Kerry Marrone and Rosa Nieves from Children’s Hospital at Montefiore
Capri Gurly from Pfizer
A huge thank you to all of those who helped behind the scenes with recruitment. We quite literally could not do it without you and share the success of this weekend with you. We are so grateful to have you on this journey.
